2025 Forester - Sport vs Limited

Main Post:

Trying to decide which one to buy.

I previously had a 2018 Forester Limited and I loved it. I then switched to a 2024 Outback Limited XT which I did not like as much. Partly due to the touch screen.

I am now in the market again for a new Subaru. I recently test drove the Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4, and the Mazda CX-50. I liked the performance of the Forester above all of those.

I strongly dislike the Subaru touch screen, but not enough to make me switch to something else.

So I am trying to decide between the Sport vs Limited trim. I have always liked leather in my cars. But the StarTex upholstery in the Sport model seems just as nice (or maybe better in some ways) than the leather.

Also wondering what people think about the overall performance and “sport tuned suspension” of the Sport trim as compared to the performance of the Limited trim. I have test driven both. I thought that I liked the driving feel and performance of the Sport but not sure I could really tell a meaningful difference or if it was just in my head or what.

Other considerations...... 19 inch wheels on the Sport (vs 18 inch wheels on the Limited), heated steering wheel on the Limited, lower price point on the Sport, power passenger seat on the Limited, etc.

What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Top Comment: I just bought a Sport 25 in River Rock Pearl and I really like the trim.

Interesting, it looks much more white unlike the other photos I've seen where it looks more blue/pink! I really like it in these pics!

Forester Sport Vs Crosstrek Limited

Main Post:

I know the answers may be biased in this thread, but looking for some input. I was going to buy the new crosstrek but now I am having second thoughts about if I should just get the bigger forester. Looking at either ordering in a brand new crosstrek limited with top package (in cool gray kahki) or forester sport with the added optional package (in blue or white). Having troubles finding the exact trims/tech packages I’d want to buy to test drive, so I am struggling to make the decision.

Pros for crosstrek: -Styling/color -limited comes with leather seats -slightly cheaper -easier to put kayak on roof -more “car like” to drive

Pros for forester: -more room for myself and gear -similar mpg as the smaller crosstrek -ventilation/usb chargers in the 2nd row -power rear gate

Let me know if you have driven both which you’d recommend and why!

If you do driving and parking in the city and/or care for gas mileage, get the Crosstrek. If none of that is a huge concern, and you want more room go with the Forester. That being said, you can always do roof storage for the Crosstrek. Whatever you end up buying, both will treat you well.

Sport vs. Limited

Main Post:

About to trade in my 2017 MINI Cooper for a '21 Crosstrek. Plan on keeping it for a long time - any advice about y'all's preferences on the Sport vs. the Limited? Or anything at all? This will be my first Subaru. Thank you!

I went sport because of the seats and dual x-mode and better look overall (wheels and extra cladding). Not having LED headlights kind of stinks but I really liked the sport seats personally because I'm outdoors a lot.

2022 Sport Vs Limited

Main Post:

Looking at a crosstrek and want the 2.5L so between the sport and limited. Wondering what your opinions are on the two. Just trying to decide if the better seats and led lights are worth it. Plus the better color secondary upper screen

LED headlights, leather seats, Harmon kardon sound system. If you’re already gonna spend around $30k, just get the nicer car. I have a 21 limited and love it.

2020 Forester Sport or 2021 Crosstrek Limited?

Main Post:

Was really eyeing a Crosstrek Limited but with a 0% APR for the Forester I'm taking a pause to see what the differences are between them.

What do y'all think? I just turned 30, I have a fiance, we live in California (Los Angeles) so at first we were thinking Crosstrek because its city-esque but can be taken out in the canyons. What does the Forester Sport have over the Crosstrek?

Top Comment:

Forester if you're planning to have kids or have doggos or need to move things. Really should test drive both. The wheelbase isn't much longer on the Forester vs the crosstrek so city driving/parking is similar. Good luck whatever you decide!

2021 Sport vs Limited Q’s

Main Post:

Hi guys, I’m going to be test driving a 2021 model next week. I currently have a sports sedan and I’m looking for a change.

I’m deciding between the Sport and Limited trim levels. For those of you that were in the same predicament, what made you choose one over the other?

My biggest concerns:

  • Sport Halogens vs Limited LEDs
  • The little screen above the nav changes for the trim levels, how does it differ between each?
  • Sport interior vs Limited (stitching color/seat material)

I’m leaning towards the Sport almost entirely bc of the yellow stitching/steering wheel accent and black trim of the console. I think it looks so much better than the Limited’s orange stitching. Would love to hear some of y’all’s opinions and choices as to why you chose one trim over the other. Thanks!

Top Comment: My girlfriend hates the yellow but loves the orange. That was the end of the debate. The only thing the sport has over the limited, for me, is the dual X-mode.

Crosstrek sport or limited?

Main Post:

I like how the Crosstrek Sport looks and the wheels however it have halogen lights and a digital multifunction display (not color)

you can get a larger 8 inch display on the sport

in my preferred configuration w/accessories, the sport is just a hair over 30k while the limited is 32.5

I'm not a huge fan of the sport trim. I'd get the limited and throw the STI rims on it.
